When you factor in our ever-growing history of safety innovations, you may ask yourself why we do not modify that motto to Experience Amazing Safety? That’s what you can expect in the new 2020 Lexus RX, which comes standard with the Lexus Safety System+ 2.0: a safety system which addresses some of the most common accident types: Accidents At Night, Frontal Collisions, and Unintended Lane Departures.
A radar system mounted in the grill and an forward-facing integrated camera are the heart of the Pre-Collision System in the 2020 Lexus RX. The Lexus Safety System+ 2.0 feature is designed to help prevent or mitigate a frontal collision. The system is capable of detecting other vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists. The system also uses an audible and visual alert to notify drivers someone or something may be in their path. It also utilizes Brake Assist to allow additional braking force if necessary.
Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist was created to keep you between the lines. This standard-equipped feature found on the new 2020 Lexus RX uses audio and visual alert cues to help drivers keep in their lane. The system also utilizes steering wheel vibration, and if needed, will even make small corrective steering adjustments to help guide your vehicle within the intended lane.
Seeing clearly in the dark just got easier with the Intelligent High Beams found on the new Lexus RX. Not only do they help you to see clearly, they also reduce glare for oncoming traffic. These Intelligent High Beams can also automatically toggle back and forth between low and high beams.
