The new Lexus IS has a fuel tank size of 17.4 gallons. It’s fairly common to see cars with fuel tanks that match their size, but the Lexus IS adds on a few more gallons to make your drive a bit longer. A few more gallons of gas means more miles on the road and a smile on drivers’ faces.
The Lexus IS has more than 430 miles of maximum range with one full tank of fuel. The IS has the option to use 1 of 4 different engines with their own unique fuel economy. The available IS 350 F Sport has a gas mileage of 20 city miles per gallon, 28 miles per gallon highway, and 22 miles per gallon combined. The most powerful IS trim, the IS 500 Sport Performance trim gets 17 city MPG, 25 highway miles per gallon, and 20 miles per gallon combined.
The new Lexus IS uses a 2.0L In-line 4-cylinder with 258 lb-ft of torque and 241 horsepower. This standard engine stacks up well compared to the other engines the 2022 IS could use. The IS 300 AWD model equips a 3.5L V6 engine that makes 260hp. The IS 350 F Sport model uses the same 3.5L V6 engine option, but this time it gets 311hp for quite the power increase. Finally, the 2022 IS 500 Sport Performance uses a durable 5.0-liter V8 that delivers 472hp and the ability to accelerate from 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds. With a quick look, it’s easy to think the 2022 Lexus IS might be a luxury sedan that doesn’t pack a punch, but with a closer look, it’s easy to see why the Lexus IS opens the gates to the exciting future of luxury vehicles.
